etsysRadiusAuthClientRetriesEncrypt

Module: ENTERASYS-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-ENCRYPT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-ENCRYPT-MIB::etsysRadiusAuthClientRetriesEncrypt

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.5.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: RadiusEncryptedString

Access: read-write

Description: The number of times to resend an authentication packet if a RADIUS Server does not respond to a request. This parameter value is maintained across system reboots. This object's true data type is 1, Integer32.

What is etsysRadiusAuthClientRetriesEncrypt?

This is the encrypted form of the RADIUS client's retry count: how many times an authentication packet is resent if the RADIUS server fails to answer, stored as an encrypted octet string that decodes to an Integer32. Because the base RADIUS client MIB is read-only, this object gives a management station a secure, encrypted SNMPv1 write path to tune retry behavior, and the value survives a system reboot once applied. An admin troubleshooting flaky authentication over a lossy link might encrypt and write this object to increase retries from 3 to 5 so legitimate logins aren't dropped after a single lost packet.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.5.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-ENCRYPT-MIB::etsysRadiusAuthClientRetriesEncrypt

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.5.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-ENCRYPT-MIB::etsysRadiusAuthClientRetriesEncrypt.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.5.1.2.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> etsysRadiusAuthClientRetriesEncrypt.1
