etsysPsePortPDType

Module: ENTERASYS-POWER-ETHERNET-EXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-POWER-ETHERNET-EXT-MIB::etsysPsePortPDType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.50.1.5.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Describes the detected PD type on this port.

A value of legacy(1) - indicates that the PD is using a capacitive signature, which is pre-IEEE standard.

A value of ieee8023af(2)- indicates that the PD is using a resistive signature and is compliant with the IEEE Std 802.3af.

A value of other(3) - indicates that the PD type could not be determined.

A value of ieee8023(4)- indicates that the PD is using a resistive signature and is compliant with the IEEE Std 802.3af and/or IEEE Std 802.3at specifications.

A value of ieee8023at(5)- indicates that the PD is using a resistive signature and is compliant with the IEEE Std 802.3at.

What is etsysPsePortPDType?

This object reports the detected type of powered device (PD) attached to a PoE port: legacy(1) for pre-IEEE capacitive-signature devices, ieee8023af(2) or ieee8023at(5) for standards-compliant resistive-signature devices, ieee8023(4) for devices compliant with either standard, or other(3) if the type could not be determined. An admin checks this to confirm whether an attached device is negotiating power under the expected PoE standard. For example, a newer high-power PoE+ camera would be expected to report ieee8023at(5) rather than legacy(1).
