etsysPseChassisPowerAllocationMode
Module: ENTERASYS-POWER-ETHERNET-EXT-MIB
OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-POWER-ETHERNET-EXT-MIB::etsysPseChassisPowerAllocationMode
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.50.1.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: In auto mode, a Pse Power Management Algorithm handles the allocation of power to all the modules.
In manual mode, power is manually allocated to the modules via the etsysPseSlotPowerAllocationTable.
The value of etsysPseChassisPowerAllocationAvailable is used to determine the power available for allocation in this chassis in both auto and manual mode.
Maintaining the value of this object across agent reboots is REQUIRED.
What is etsysPseChassisPowerAllocationMode?
This object selects whether the PoE power budget for the chassis is allocated automatically by a management algorithm (auto) or manually by the admin through the slot power allocation table (manual). An admin sets this to control whether the switch itself decides how much power each slot's PoE module gets or whether the admin fixes each slot's budget explicitly. For example, an admin managing a chassis with mixed PoE and non-PoE line cards might set this to manual(2) to guarantee power reserves for a critical uplink module.
