etsysMACLockingViolationSyslogEnable

Module: ENTERASYS-MAC-LOCKING-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-MAC-LOCKING-MIB::etsysMACLockingViolationSyslogEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.21.1.2.1.1.13

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: EnabledStatus

Access: read-write

Description: When set to enabled(1), the agent issues syslog messages for violations detected by the agent.

Arrival of violation syslog messages at the management station is not guaranteed and the messages generation rate is not required to match the violation detection rate. A best effort delivery is acceptable. When disabled(2), no syslog messages are sent as a result of MAC locking violations.

What is etsysMACLockingViolationSyslogEnable?

This read-write EnabledStatus per-port object controls whether the switch sends syslog messages (best-effort, not guaranteed) when a MAC locking violation is detected on that port. An admin enables this to feed violation events into a centralized syslog server for long-term logging and correlation with other security events. For example, enabling this lets a SIEM tool capture and alert on repeated MAC-locking violations on a specific access port.
