etsysMACLockingThresholdSyslogEnable

Module: ENTERASYS-MAC-LOCKING-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-MAC-LOCKING-MIB::etsysMACLockingThresholdSyslogEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.21.1.2.1.1.15

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: EnabledStatus

Access: read-write

Description: When set to enabled(1), the agent issues a syslog message when the MAC address threshold as defined in the etsysMACLockingFirstArrivalStationsAllocated object has been reached.

Arrival of these messages is not guaranteed and the message generation rate is not required to match the detection rate. A best effort delivery is acceptable.

When disabled(2), no messages are sent as a result of the threshold being reached.

What is etsysMACLockingThresholdSyslogEnable?

This read-write EnabledStatus per-port object enables a syslog message (best-effort delivery) when the port's first-arrival MAC count reaches the configured etsysMACLockingFirstArrivalStationsAllocated threshold. An admin enables this to log threshold events to syslog for later review or correlation, in addition to or instead of an SNMP trap. For example, enabling this ensures a note is written to syslog whenever a port's dynamic MAC-lock slots become fully occupied.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.21.1.2.1.1.15
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-MAC-LOCKING-MIB::etsysMACLockingThresholdSyslogEnable

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.21.1.2.1.1.15.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-MAC-LOCKING-MIB::etsysMACLockingThresholdSyslogEnable.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.21.1.2.1.1.15.1 s <value>
