etsysMACAuthenticationSystemEnable

Module: ENTERASYS-MAC-AUTHENTICATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-MAC-AUTHENTICATION-MIB::etsysMACAuthenticationSystemEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.25.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: EnabledStatus

Access: read-write

Description: When enabled(1), all objects in this MIB are fully active. When disabled(2), this object overrides all other object settings in this MIB without affecting their values.

What is etsysMACAuthenticationSystemEnable?

This read-write value turns MAC-authentication on or off for the entire switch, overriding every other object in this MIB without erasing their configured values when disabled. An admin uses it as a single master kill-switch to pause MAC-based port security during a maintenance window without losing the per-port and per-MAC settings already configured. For example, setting etsysMACAuthenticationSystemEnable to disabled(2) lets any device onto MAC-authenticated ports temporarily while the rest of the policy stays intact for when it's re-enabled.
