etsysMACAuthenticationPortReauthenticate

Module: ENTERASYS-MAC-AUTHENTICATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-MAC-AUTHENTICATION-MIB::etsysMACAuthenticationPortReauthenticate

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.25.1.2.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: When set to true(1), the MAC authentication entity on this port is required to immediately verify all currently authenticated MACs on this port. This requires that each MAC address be authenticated with the authentication server through the local authentication client or some other authentication mechanism. Each supplicant remains authenticated pending the outcome.

What is etsysMACAuthenticationPortReauthenticate?

This read-write boolean, when set to true(1), forces immediate re-verification of every currently authenticated MAC on this port against the authentication server, while each MAC stays authenticated pending the outcome. An admin triggers this on demand to confirm authorization is still valid without waiting for the port's normal reauthentication timer. For example, setting this true on a port suspected of hosting a device whose credentials were just revoked forces an immediate re-check rather than waiting out etsysMACAuthenticationPortReauthPeriod.
