etsysMACAuthenticationPortReauthEnabled
Module: ENTERASYS-MAC-AUTHENTICATION-MIB
OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-MAC-AUTHENTICATION-MIB::etsysMACAuthenticationPortReauthEnabled
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.25.1.2.1.1.7
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: EnabledStatus
Access: read-write
Description: If enabled(1), then every etsysMACAuthenticationReauthPeriod the switch attempts to validate all currently authenticated MACs on this port. When set to disabled(2) all current re-authentications in progress are allowed to complete and the requisite actions are taken. When set to disabled(2), no further re-authentications are attempted.
What is etsysMACAuthenticationPortReauthEnabled?
This read-write value, defaulting to disabled(2), controls whether the switch periodically re-validates all currently authenticated MACs on this port using etsysMACAuthenticationPortReauthPeriod; disabling it lets in-progress reauthentications finish but starts no new ones. An admin enables this on ports where credentials can be revoked mid-session and continuous re-validation is required rather than one-time authentication. For example, setting etsysMACAuthenticationPortReauthEnabled to enabled(1) ensures a MAC that's been blacklisted on the backend gets dropped from this port at the next reauthentication cycle rather than staying connected indefinitely.
