etsysMACAuthenticationLastFailedAuthCause

Module: ENTERASYS-MAC-AUTHENTICATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-MAC-AUTHENTICATION-MIB::etsysMACAuthenticationLastFailedAuthCause

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.25.1.2.1.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: SnmpAdminString

Access: read-only

Description: The string will be formatted with 'XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX: TIME&DATE: Textual failure reason'; where XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX is the MAC address and TIME&DATE is the time (hh/mm/ss) and date (mm/dd/yyyy) of the failure. It is also only best effort; as there could be multiple failures per port and the agent may query this at any random time.

What is etsysMACAuthenticationLastFailedAuthCause?

This read-only string reports the most recent authentication failure on this port, formatted as "XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX: TIME&DATE: Textual failure reason", though it is best-effort since multiple failures can occur between polls. An admin polls this to get a human-readable reason the last device on this port was rejected, without needing to correlate RADIUS server logs. For example, a value like "00-1A-2B-3C-4D-5E: 14:32:07 06/21/2026: Invalid credentials" tells the admin exactly which MAC and when the most recent authentication attempt failed on that port.
