etsysIetfBridgeDot1qStaticUcastAsMcast

Module: ENTERASYS-IETF-BRIDGE-MIB-EXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-IETF-BRIDGE-MIB-EXT-MIB::etsysIetfBridgeDot1qStaticUcastAsMcast

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.31.1.3.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: EnabledStatus

Access: read-write

Description: When this object is set to enabled(1), the agent will allow unicast traffic which matches all 48 bits of a static and the source VLAN of a multicast entry in the filter-database, except for the multicast-bit (bit 8). This augments the behavior defined in the IEEE 802.1Q specification.

For example, if a static multicast address is configured as 01-02-03-04-05-06, VLAN 7, frames with a destination MAC address of either 01-02-03-04-05-06 or 00-02-03-04-05-06, received on VLAN 7, will match this entry.

What is etsysIetfBridgeDot1qStaticUcastAsMcast?

This read-write enumeration, when enabled, lets a statically configured multicast filter-database entry also match unicast frames that share the same 48-bit address pattern except for the multicast bit, letting an admin filter both with one static entry.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.31.1.3.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-IETF-BRIDGE-MIB-EXT-MIB::etsysIetfBridgeDot1qStaticUcastAsMcast

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.31.1.3.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-IETF-BRIDGE-MIB-EXT-MIB::etsysIetfBridgeDot1qStaticUcastAsMcast.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.31.1.3.3.1 s <value>
