etsysESwitchRateLimitSwitch

Module: ENTERASYS-ESWITCH-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-ESWITCH-MIB::etsysESwitchRateLimitSwitch

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.10.1.2.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: DURABLE: By default, rate limiting will be disabled. It can be enabled by setting this object to 'true(1)'.

What is etsysESwitchRateLimitSwitch?

This durable TruthValue turns multicast rate limiting on or off for the bridge port identified by the table's ifIndex. An admin sets it to true(1) to activate rate limiting on a port, guarding against a broadcast or multicast storm spreading across the LAN connected to that bridge port, since the feature ships disabled by default. An admin seeing repeated multicast storms on a port would set etsysESwitchRateLimitSwitch to true(1) for that ifIndex, then configure etsysESwitchRateLimit to cap the frame rate.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.10.1.2.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-ESWITCH-MIB::etsysESwitchRateLimitSwitch

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.10.1.2.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-ESWITCH-MIB::etsysESwitchRateLimitSwitch.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.10.1.2.1.1.1.1 s <value>
