This object reports the type of a configured Wi-Fi tunnel, whether it's not yet configured, carries management traffic, or carries data traffic. An administrator checks this to distinguish which of possibly several Wi-Fi tunnels on the device is responsible for control/management communication versus user data forwarding. Seeing management(1) on a tunnel confirms it's the one handling the access point's control-plane traffic rather than client data.
