eltLtcTunneledProtocolType

Module: ELTEX-MES-L2-TUNNEL-CONFIG-MIB

OID (symbolic): ELTEX-MES-L2-TUNNEL-CONFIG-MIB::eltLtcTunneledProtocolType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.35265.1.23.13.1.2.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Bits

Access: read-write

Description: Indicates tunneled protocol of the interface.

If a BIT is set, then the value of the corresponding protocol is tunneled. Specifically, if the 'stp(0)' BIT is set, then the Spanning Tree Protocol PDU is tunneled. At this moment, there are no other supported protocols.

If the bit for a given protocol is set for an interface, then the statistics for that interface and protocol will start to be monitored.

What is eltLtcTunneledProtocolType?

This bitmask value indicates which protocols are tunneled on this interface, where setting the stp(0) bit means Spanning Tree Protocol PDUs are tunneled; setting a bit also starts statistics monitoring for that interface/protocol combination, and STP is currently the only supported protocol. Admins set the stp bit to enable customer STP BPDUs to pass transparently through the provider's L2 tunnel rather than being processed by the local switch. Setting the stp(0) bit on an interface would begin tunneling and monitoring statistics for Spanning Tree PDUs crossing it.
