eltexLtcTunnelShutdownThreshold

Module: ELTEX-L2-TUNNEL-CONFIG-MIB

OID (symbolic): ELTEX-L2-TUNNEL-CONFIG-MIB::eltexLtcTunnelShutdownThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.35265.37.1.3.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The shutdown threshold on an interface for a given protocol. After reaching the shutdown threshold, the interface will shutdown for the given protocol. This value cannot be less than the value of eltexLtcTunnelDropThreshold. A value of 0 indicates that no limit is set.

What is eltexLtcTunnelShutdownThreshold?

A read-write value, in PDUs per second and defaulting to 0 (no limit), setting the rate at which the interface shuts down for a given tunneled protocol, and which cannot be set lower than the paired drop threshold. This gives an admin a stronger protective action than dropping alone, taking the interface itself down for that protocol if tunneled traffic keeps arriving at an excessive rate even after drops kick in, guarding against a sustained storm. An admin might set this to 500 PDUs/sec so a runaway BPDU storm that keeps exceeding even the drop threshold ultimately shuts the interface down rather than continuing to consume resources.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.35265.37.1.3.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ELTEX-L2-TUNNEL-CONFIG-MIB::eltexLtcTunnelShutdownThreshold

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.35265.37.1.3.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ELTEX-L2-TUNNEL-CONFIG-MIB::eltexLtcTunnelShutdownThreshold.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.35265.37.1.3.1.1.3.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> eltexLtcTunnelShutdownThreshold.1
