Description: This object is used to start or stop the trace with the parameters specified by the following trace objects.

What is rtTraceCtrl?

This starts or stops a diagnostic trace using the parameters configured in the related trace objects (rtTraceFileName and rtTraceInterfaceType). An admin sets this to start(2) when actively debugging a WAN issue and needs a packet-level trace captured to a file. The MIB notes this object is not supported by the Eicon Agent, so its actual availability depends on the specific agent implementation.
