ebnSubnetSearchOrdering

Module: EBN-MIB

OID (symbolic): EBN-MIB::ebnSubnetSearchOrdering

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.34.7.1.5.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Indicates whether an EBN may reorder a subnetwork routing list so that entries which are more likely to be successful move to the top of the subnetwork routing list and entries which are more likely to be unsuccessful move to the bottom of the list. The following values are defined:

- priority(1): Entries may be reordered. - defined(2): Entries must not be reordered.

What is ebnSubnetSearchOrdering?

This read-only value indicates whether the Extended Border Node may reorder a subnetwork routing list, moving control points more likely to succeed toward the top: priority(1) allows reordering, while defined(2) requires the list to be searched in its configured order. Admins set this per-LU behavior to balance search efficiency, letting the EBN learn and prioritize successful paths, against predictability, forcing a fixed, administrator-defined search sequence. For example, setting this to defined(2) for an LU with a strict, deliberately ordered search list ensures the EBN always tries control points in exactly the configured sequence rather than reordering them based on past success.
