ebnSubnetSearchDynamics

Module: EBN-MIB

OID (symbolic): EBN-MIB::ebnSubnetSearchDynamics

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.34.7.1.5.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Indicates whether an EBN may add dynamic entries to a subnetwork routing list. none(1) means no entries may be added to the subnetwork routing list. limited(2) means only likely entries may be added to the subnetwork routing

list. full(3) means all native extended border nodes and adjacent, non-native EBNs and NNs will be added to the subnetwork routing list.

What is ebnSubnetSearchDynamics?

This read-only value indicates whether this Extended Border Node may add dynamic entries to a subnetwork routing list for a given LU: none(1) permits no dynamic additions, limited(2) permits only likely-to-succeed entries to be added, and full(3) allows all native EBNs plus adjacent non-native EBNs and network nodes to be added. Admins configure and check this to control how aggressively the EBN expands its search scope beyond the statically configured routing list when searching for a given LU across subnetworks. For example, setting this to full(3) for a critical, hard-to-locate LU broadens the search to include every plausible native and adjacent border node rather than relying solely on the manually defined list.
