ebnDefaultSubnetVisitCount

Module: EBN-MIB

OID (symbolic): EBN-MIB::ebnDefaultSubnetVisitCount

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.34.7.1.3.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: The default maximum number of subnetworks a LOCATE search procedure may traverse.

What is ebnDefaultSubnetVisitCount?

This read-only value, in topology subnetworks, reports the default maximum number of subnetworks a LOCATE search procedure originating at this Extended Border Node is allowed to traverse. Admins use it to understand the built-in scope limit on cross-subnetwork resource searches, which prevents a search from propagating indefinitely across a large multi-subnetwork APPN topology. For example, a default visit count of 5 means a LOCATE search for an unresolved LU will stop after crossing five subnetworks even if the target hasn't been found.
