What Is DS8200v2-MIB?

DS8200v2-MIB is a vendor MIB for the DS8200 version 2 digital switching/transport system, exposing product identification and hardware inventory objects alongside management-port and interface-technology (T1/E1) branches. It provides objects for model number and description, element ID, serial number, physical and NMS-facing addresses, and per-slot label information via a label table, together with software and hardware revision fields. Its monitoring value centers on hardware/software identification and inventory status: productSoftwareRev and productHardwareRev let an operator confirm firmware and hardware revisions across a deployed base, productSerialNum and productElementId support asset tracking, and the mgmtPorts/dbu/t1e1 branches point to line-level status for management and T1/E1 transport interfaces. As a self-contained product MIB it does not appear to lean on IETF standard MIBs beyond basic SNMP conventions. Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll productModelNumber, productSerialNum, and productSoftwareRev/productHardwareRev to inventory and verify the revision level of deployed DS8200v2 units across a network. The productLabelTable/productLabelTableEntry, keyed by labelTableIndex, would be checked for labelTableLabel to identify which physical card or port slot a given entry corresponds to. The t1e1 and dbu branches would be polled for T1/E1 line and distribution-bus status to catch a transport-facing circuit fault on the unit.
