tRingPortMgmtRingOutEnable

Module: DOT5-LOG-MIB

OID (symbolic): DOT5-LOG-MIB::tRingPortMgmtRingOutEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.1.2.1.1.3.1.1.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object, when written, permits the port to function as either a ring out port or a station port, if available. If this selection is not supported by this port, then any write to this object will return a BADSETINFO error. When read, this object will return the state of the port with respect to this mode of operation. The default state of this object, if available, is disabled; otherwise it is notAvailable.

What is tRingPortMgmtRingOutEnable?

Writing enable(3) or disable(2) lets a dual-purpose port function as a ring-out (trunk) port instead of a station port, where supported; writing to a port that doesn't support this dual role returns a BADSETINFO error, and the object reads back notAvailable(1) on such ports. It defaults to disabled where available, meaning the port acts as a station port until an admin explicitly repurposes it.
