Module: DOCS-PNM-MIB

OID (symbolic): DOCS-PNM-MIB::docsPnmCmtsUtscCfgNumBins

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4491.2.1.27.1.3.10.2.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: This attribute determines the number of frequency bins or samples per span when sampling the upstream spectrum. When this attribute is read, it provides the actual number of bins, which may be different from the requested (configured) number of bins due to implementation effects. The number of bins is typically less than the FFT length in use, due to filter rolloff at the edges of the analysis band. A larger number of frequency bins will result in better frequency resolution, for a given frequency span.

What is docsPnmCmtsUtscCfgNumBins?

The number of frequency bins/samples per span used when sampling the upstream spectrum (0-65535); the actual value read back may differ from requested due to implementation limits, and is typically less than the FFT length due to filter roll-off at band edges. More bins give finer frequency resolution for a given span, which an admin trades off against capture size and processing overhead.
