docsSubMgtCpeControlActive

Module: DOCS-IETF-SUBMGT-MIB

OID (symbolic): DOCS-IETF-SUBMGT-MIB::docsSubMgtCpeControlActive

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.125.1.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: Controls the application of subscriber management to this cable modem. If this is set to true, CMTS-based CPE control is active, and all the actions required by the various filter tables and controls apply at the CMTS. If this is set to false, no subscriber management filtering is done at the CMTS (but other filters may apply). If not set through DOCSIS provisioning, this object defaults to docsSubMgtCpeActiveDefault.

What is docsSubMgtCpeControlActive?

This read-write boolean controls whether CMTS-based subscriber management filtering is active for a given cable modem, applying all the filter-table rules when true and disabling that filtering when false. Operators use it as the master switch for per-modem CPE control, since related objects like the max-CPE-IP limit and learnability setting only take effect while this is true. For example, an operator troubleshooting a business customer's modem that needs unrestricted device access might set this to false to bypass subscriber management filtering for that modem.
