docsSubMgtCmFilterCmDownstream
Module: DOCS-IETF-SUBMGT-MIB
OID (symbolic): DOCS-IETF-SUBMGT-MIB::docsSubMgtCmFilterCmDownstream
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.125.1.6.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-write
Description: The filter group applied to traffic destined for the referenced CM itself. Upon row creation this is set either to zero (use default classification, the diffServClfrElementSpecific=zeroDotZero row of diffServClfrElementTable), or to the value in the provisioning object sent upstream from the CM to the CMTS during registration. The value of this object is the same as that of the filter group index appearing as docsSubMgtFilterGroupIndex.
What is docsSubMgtCmFilterCmDownstream?
This read-write integer identifies the filter group applied to downstream traffic destined for the cable modem itself, rather than for subscriber devices behind it, defaulting to zero unless set during DOCSIS registration. Operators use it to control what management or control traffic reaches the modem's own management interface. For example, setting a restrictive filter group here would block unwanted downstream traffic aimed directly at the modem's management IP.
