agentResCtlSourceInterface

Module: DNOS-DNS-RESOLVER-CONTROL-MIB

OID (symbolic): DNOS-DNS-RESOLVER-CONTROL-MIB::agentResCtlSourceInterface

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.37.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InterfaceIndexOrZero

Access: read-write

Description: A source-interface selection on an Interface Index (like vlan based routing interface, port based routing interface, loopback interface, tunnel interface). A non-zero value indicates ifIndex for the corresponding interface entry in the ifTable is selected. A zero value indicates the source-interface un-selection.

What is agentResCtlSourceInterface?

This read-write value selects, by ifIndex, the source interface (such as a VLAN, port-based routing, loopback, or tunnel interface) the device uses when originating DNS requests, with 0 meaning no specific source interface is selected. An admin sets it to force DNS queries to originate from a specific interface's IP address, useful when the DNS server or an ACL upstream expects requests to come from a known, stable source address such as a loopback. For example, an admin might set this to the ifIndex of a loopback interface so DNS queries always originate from that stable management address regardless of which physical uplink is active.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.37.1.1.7
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> DNOS-DNS-RESOLVER-CONTROL-MIB::agentResCtlSourceInterface

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.37.1.1.7.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DNOS-DNS-RESOLVER-CONTROL-MIB::agentResCtlSourceInterface.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.37.1.1.7.1 s <value>
