dIpsgIfSrcGuardMacFilterAction

Module: DLINKSW-IP-SOURCE-GUARD-MIB

OID (symbolic): DLINKSW-IP-SOURCE-GUARD-MIB::dIpsgIfSrcGuardMacFilterAction

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.26.132.1.2.2.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This object indicates the Source Guard action applied when the traffic matching the entry:

allowMacAddress(1) - indicates that the IP traffic (compared source IP and source MAC with dIpsgIfSrcGuardIpAddress and dIpsgIfSrcGuardMacAddress respectively) will be allowed to go through.

permitAllMacAddresses(2) - If dIpsgIfSrcGuardIpFilterAction is 'permitIpAddress', this value indicates that all the IP matching traffic (compared source IP with dIpsgIfSrcGuardIpAddress only) will be allowed to go through.

When dIpsgIfSrcGuardIpFilterAction is 'permitAllIpAdress' or 'denyAllIpAdress', this object is meaningless.

When dIpsgIfSrcGuardMacFilterAction is 'permitAllMacAddresses', dIpsgIfSrcGuardMacAddress is meaningless and '000000000000'H is used to indicate it.

What is dIpsgIfSrcGuardMacFilterAction?

This read-only INTEGER reports the MAC-level action applied when traffic matches the entry: allowMacAddress(1) permits only traffic whose source IP and MAC both match the entry's dIpsgIfSrcGuardIpAddress and dIpsgIfSrcGuardMacAddress, while permitAllMacAddresses(2) permits any MAC as long as the source IP matches (only meaningful when the IP filter action is permitIpAddress). An admin uses this to understand whether a port is enforcing strict IP+MAC binding or looser IP-only matching for a given entry. For example, permitAllMacAddresses(2) on an entry means a host could spoof its MAC and still pass, as long as it kept the bound source IP.
