dbpPermanentFailureNotif
Module: DIAMETER-BASE-PROTOCOL-MIB
OID (symbolic): DIAMETER-BASE-PROTOCOL-MIB::dbpPermanentFailureNotif
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.119.1.0.3
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description: An dbpPermanentFailure notification is sent when both the following conditions are true: 1) the value of dbpPermanentFailureNotifEnabled is True(1) 2) the value of dbpPerPeerStatsPermanentFailures changes It can be utilized by an NMS to trigger logical/physical entity table maintenance polls. An agent must not generate more than one dbpPermanentFailure 'notification event' in a five second period, where a 'notification event' is the transmission of a single notification PDU to a list of notification destinations. If additional premanent failures occur within the five second 'throttling' period, then these trap-events should be suppressed by the agent. An NMS should periodically check the value of dbpPerPeerStatsPermanentFailures to detect any missed dbpPermanentFailure trap-events, e.g. due to throttling or transmission loss.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' DIAMETER-BASE-PROTOCOL-MIB::dbpPermanentFailureNotif snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.2.1.119.1.0.3
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
Example snmptrapd log entry:
zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:64866->[192.168.30.10]:162]: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (476369762) 55 days, 3:14:57.62 SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: DIAMETER-BASE-PROTOCOL-MIB::dbpPermanentFailureNotif
