dbpPeerConnectionUpNotif

Module: DIAMETER-BASE-PROTOCOL-MIB

OID (symbolic): DIAMETER-BASE-PROTOCOL-MIB::dbpPeerConnectionUpNotif

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.119.1.0.5

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: An dbpPeerConnectionUp notification is sent when both thefollowing conditions are true: 1) the value of dbpPeerConnectionUpNotifEnabled is True(1) 2) the value of dbpPerPeerStatsState changes to either rOpen(6)or iOpen(7) It can be utilized by an NMS to trigger logical/physical entity table maintenance polls. An agent must not generate more than one dbpPeerConnectionDown 'notification event' in a five second period, where a 'notification event' is the transmission of a single notification PDU to a list of notification destinations. If additional 'transport down' events occur within the five second 'throttling' period, then these trap-events should be suppressed by the agent.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' DIAMETER-BASE-PROTOCOL-MIB::dbpPeerConnectionUpNotif
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.2.1.119.1.0.5

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:55383->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (509014103) 58 days, 21:55:41.03
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: DIAMETER-BASE-PROTOCOL-MIB::dbpPeerConnectionUpNotif
