ibmSPDepNodeDelay

Module: DEPNODE-MIB

OID (symbolic): DEPNODE-MIB::ibmSPDepNodeDelay

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.117.4.1.1.14

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This value is an estimate of how many clock cycles elapse before a clock synchronization packet sent from the adjacent switch chip to the dependent node results in loading of the switch time-of-day register for the node.

The dependent node needs this value to build the packet that it sends to the adjacent switch chip to trigger that chip to reply with a clock synchronization packet.

What is ibmSPDepNodeDelay?

This value is an estimate of how many clock cycles elapse between a clock synchronization packet being sent from the adjacent switch chip and the node's switch time-of-day register actually being loaded. The dependent node needs this delay value to correctly build the packet it sends to the adjacent switch chip to trigger a clock synchronization reply, compensating for that propagation and processing delay. For example, an admin fine-tuning clock synchronization accuracy on a dependent node might adjust ibmSPDepNodeDelay if time-of-day readings appear consistently skewed relative to the rest of the SP switch network.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.117.4.1.1.14
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> DEPNODE-MIB::ibmSPDepNodeDelay

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.117.4.1.1.14.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DEPNODE-MIB::ibmSPDepNodeDelay.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.117.4.1.1.14.1 i <value>
