Description: The dellNetChassisBootupTime used the timestamp to uniquely identify the system between system reboots.

Each time an NMS connects to a chassis, it should verify its dellNetChassisBootupTime. If the time is different, it should refresh its history and active tables.

But, if the dellNetChassisBootupTime is the same, then it should query the dellNetLastTrapEventSeqId and update its history and active tables from its own dellNetLastTrapEventSeqId to the chassis dellNetLastTrapEventSeqId.

What is dellNetChassisBootupTime?

This value is a timestamp that uniquely identifies the current uptime session of a Dell Networking chassis, changing each time the chassis reboots. An NMS polls this value to detect reboots: if it differs from the last known value, the NMS discards its cached history and active trap tables and refreshes them from scratch, rather than trying to reconcile against stale sequence IDs. For example, if an NMS sees the bootup time jump after a power cycle, it re-syncs its trap tables instead of resuming from the previous dellNetLastTrapEventSeqId.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6027.3.6.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> DELL-NETWORKING-TRAP-EVENT-MIB::dellNetChassisBootupTime

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6027.3.6.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DELL-NETWORKING-TRAP-EVENT-MIB::dellNetChassisBootupTime.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> dellNetChassisBootupTime.1
