Description: Maximum number of paths with equal routing metric value which it is permitted to split between.
Note that, when IGP shortcut interfaces are in use, this maximum applies individually to IGP shortcut paths and non-IGP shortcut paths. That is, there may be a total of 2 * isisSysMaxPathSplits paths for a single route.
This object follows the replaceOnlyWhileDisabled behavior.
What is isisSysMaxPathSplits?
Caps how many equal-cost paths (ECMP) the router will split traffic across for a single route, from 1 to 32; when IGP shortcut interfaces are also in use, this limit applies separately to shortcut and non-shortcut paths, so a route could have up to twice this many total paths. An admin raises this on a well-meshed core to make fuller use of parallel equal-cost links, or lowers it to constrain how widely traffic fans out.
