Description: The ID for this instance of the Integrated IS-IS protocol. This value is appended to each of the area addresses to form the Network Entity Titles. The derivation of a value for this object is implementation-specific. Some implementations may automatically assign values and not permit an SNMP write, while others may require the value to be set manually.
For the DC-ISIS implementation, this field is set through the MIB. This object follows the replaceOnlyWhileDisabled behavior.
What is isisSysID?
Holds the System ID for this IS-IS instance, the identifier appended to each configured area address to build the router's Network Entity Titles (NETs); in the DC-ISIS implementation this value is always set explicitly through the MIB rather than auto-derived. An admin assigns a unique System ID per router (commonly derived from a loopback address) when bringing up IS-IS, and can only change it while the instance is administratively disabled.
