Description: The type of the circuit. This object follows the replaceOnlyWhileDisabled behavior. The type specified must be compatible with the type of the interface defined by the value of isisCircIfIndex.
In DC-ISIS only 'broadcast' and 'ptToPt' circuits are supported. An automatic circuit can have type 'unknown' until the correct MIB type is defined.
What is isisCircType?
Sets the circuit type — DC-ISIS supports only 'broadcast' (for multi-access LAN segments) and 'ptToPt' (point-to-point links), with 'unknown' allowed temporarily on an automatic circuit before its real type is determined — and must be compatible with the underlying interface identified by isisCircIfIndex; like several circuit-level objects it can only be changed while the circuit is disabled. An admin sets 'ptToPt' explicitly on a serial or tunnel interface, or 'broadcast' on an Ethernet segment with potentially multiple IS-IS neighbors.
