diskOverheatShutdowntAlarm

Module: DATA-DOMAIN-MIB

OID (symbolic): DATA-DOMAIN-MIB::diskOverheatShutdowntAlarm

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.19746.2.16

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: Meaning: the temperature reading of the indicated disk has surpassed the 'shutdown' temperature level. The DDR will be shutdown. The index value of the alarm indicates the disk index that may be looked up in the disk tables 'diskProperties', 'diskPerformance', and 'diskReliability' for more information about the actual disk reading the high value. What to do: Boot the DDR and monitor the status and temperatures. If the same disk has continued problems, consider 'failing' it and get a replacement disk.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' DATA-DOMAIN-MIB::diskOverheatShutdowntAlarm
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.19746.2.16

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:63536->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (380859440) 44 days, 1:56:34.40
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: DATA-DOMAIN-MIB::diskOverheatShutdowntAlarm

SNMPv3 example:

snmptrap -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3user -a SHA -A "AuthPass1" -x AES -X "PrivPass1" <manager> '' DATA-DOMAIN-MIB::diskOverheatShutdowntAlarm
