diskOverheatAlertAlarm

Module: DATA-DOMAIN-MIB

OID (symbolic): DATA-DOMAIN-MIB::diskOverheatAlertAlarm

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.19746.2.15

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: Meaning: the temperature reading of the indicated disk is more than halfway between the 'warning' and 'shutdown' temperature levels. If it continues to rise, it will trigger a shutdown of the DDR. The index value of the alarm indicates the disk index that may be looked up in the disk tables 'diskProperties', 'diskPerformance', and 'diskReliability' for more information about the actual disk reading the high value. What to do: check the disk status, temperatures of the environment in which the DDR is, and other factors which may increase the temperature. If the temperature continues stays at this level or rises, and no other disks are reading this trouble, consider 'failing' the disk, and get a replacement.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' DATA-DOMAIN-MIB::diskOverheatAlertAlarm
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.19746.2.15

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:59786->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (422833546) 48 days, 22:32:15.46
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: DATA-DOMAIN-MIB::diskOverheatAlertAlarm
