x25SapSbscrPktRetransmission

Module: CXX25-MIB

OID (symbolic): CXX25-MIB::x25SapSbscrPktRetransmission

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.495.2.1.6.29.21.1.82

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object applies only to lower SAPs (service access points).

Determines if this SAP subscribes to the Packet Retransmission facility.

Options: false (1): Not subscribed: This SAP does not maintain copies of transmitted packets, and responds to packet-level Reject packets by resetting the virtual circuit.

true (2): Subscribed: This SAP responds to Reject packets by retransmitting all unacknowledged data packets on the affected virtual circuit. This SAP maintains copies of each data packet transmitted across all active virtual circuits in anticipation of Rejects. The copies are kept until they are acknowledged.

Default Value: false (1)

Configuration Changed: administrative and operative

What is x25SapSbscrPktRetransmission?

For lower SAPs only, determines this SAP's response to packet-level Reject packets: not subscribed (false, the default) resets the circuit on a Reject, while subscribed (true) makes the SAP retain copies of all transmitted-but-unacknowledged data packets so it can retransmit them instead of resetting the call. An admin enables Packet Retransmission on lossy links to recover from transient packet-level errors without tearing down the virtual circuit, at the cost of extra buffer memory to hold the unacknowledged copies.
