ctTrunkPortRemoteIfIndex

Module: CTRON-SMARTTRUNK-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-SMARTTRUNK-MIB::ctTrunkPortRemoteIfIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.1.2.20.1.1.4.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InterfaceIndex

Access: read-only

Description: The ifIndex of the interface at the other end of this part of the trunk link. If this value is 0, then for some reason there is no interface on the other side of this link. This might be a temporary condition or it might represent a real problem.

Note: this table is indexed by ifIndex. So the index is the local ifIndex value and ctTrunkPortRemoteIfIndex is the remote ifIndex.

What is ctTrunkPortRemoteIfIndex?

This read-only value gives the ifIndex of the interface at the far end of this trunk link, as seen from the locally-indexed member port; a value of 0 means no remote interface is currently recognized. An admin reads it to confirm a trunk member link's remote endpoint is correctly identified, since a persistent 0 value could indicate either a temporary link-up delay or a real connectivity problem. For example, an admin diagnosing a trunk member that shows connected locally but reports 0 here would investigate the far-end device for a mismatched or down configuration.
