ctTrunkLLAPRequirement

Module: CTRON-SMARTTRUNK-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-SMARTTRUNK-MIB::ctTrunkLLAPRequirement

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.1.2.20.1.2.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Indicates whether this managed entity requires the LLAP updates to perform the trunking function.

Certain families of products require LLAP (decHuntGroup Protocol) order for the Smart TRUNK functionality to work. A value of 1 implies that LLAP is necessary for smart-trunking to work on this platform, a value of 2 indicates that it is not necessary.

What is ctTrunkLLAPRequirement?

This read-only value indicates whether this device's Smart TRUNK function requires LLAP (the DEC Hunt Group Protocol) updates to operate, with required(1) meaning LLAP is necessary and notRequired(2) meaning it is not, per platform. An admin checks it to know whether LLAP must be running for trunking to function correctly on this particular hardware family, since the source notes only certain product families need it. For example, an admin troubleshooting a trunk that will not pass traffic on a platform reporting required(1) would check that LLAP is properly enabled, whereas that check would not apply on a platform reporting notRequired(2).
