ctRatePolicingAction

Module: CTRON-RATE-POLICING-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-RATE-POLICING-MIB::ctRatePolicingAction

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.1.2.14.7.1.3.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CtRatePolActionList

Access: read-write

Description: This is the action to be taken if the rate limit is exceeded. This value must be a valid action as specified by the corresponding ctRatePolicingActionsAllowed object. Also, no more than one action may be specified. Attempts to set this value outside of the aforementioned guidelines will fail.

What is ctRatePolicingAction?

This read-write value specifies which single action, drawn from ctRatePolicingActionsAllowed, the device takes on this port when the configured rate limit is exceeded. Admins configure it to decide the consequence of exceeding the threshold, such as dropping excess traffic or disabling the port, and the device rejects attempts to set more than one action or an unsupported one. For example, an admin might set this to "drop" on a guest-network port so excess traffic is simply discarded rather than disabling the port entirely.
