Module: CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB::nwDecIVProtoIfSnooping

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.4.1.1.2.1.1.1.13

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Controls the operation of DECnet Phase IV distance-vector-based routing protocol snooping on the router port. When snooping is enabled the DECnet Phase IV distance-vector-based routing protocol operates in passive mode, so that it receives route information, builds and maintains a route table, but does not advertise the route table or send updates on the router port for which the entry exists.

What is nwDecIVProtoIfSnooping?

nwDecIVProtoIfSnooping is a read-write switch that, when enabled, puts the DECnet Phase IV distance-vector-based routing protocol into passive mode on this router port, meaning it still receives route information and builds a route table but does not advertise that table or send updates out this specific port. An admin enables this on a port where they want the router to learn routes without actively participating in the routing exchange, such as a monitoring tap or a segment where advertising would be unwanted. For example, enabling nwDecIVProtoIfSnooping on a port connected to a passive monitoring segment lets the router build a DECnet route table from what it overhears there without ever sending its own updates out that port.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.4.1.1.2.1.1.1.13
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB::nwDecIVProtoIfSnooping

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.4.1.1.2.1.1.1.13.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB::nwDecIVProtoIfSnooping.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.4.1.1.2.1.1.1.13.1 i <value>
