Description: Sets the administrative state of the DECnet Phase IV distance-vector-based routing protocol on the router port for which the entry exists. Enabled (3) causes the routing protocol to become active on the router port. Disabled (2) causes it to become inactive.
What is nwDecIVProtoIfAdminStatus?
nwDecIVProtoIfAdminStatus is a read-write switch that turns the DECnet Phase IV distance-vector-based routing protocol on or off for the single router port identified by this row, with enabled(3) activating it there and disabled(2) deactivating it just on that port. An admin uses this to control the routing protocol per-interface, for example to stop route advertisements on one port while leaving the protocol running elsewhere. For example, setting nwDecIVProtoIfAdminStatus to disabled(2) on a port connected to a test lab keeps that segment out of the production DECnet route exchange while other ports continue running the protocol normally.
