What is nwDecIVHostMapFraming?
nwDecIVHostMapFraming is a read-write enumeration specifying the framing type, such as ethernet(2) or snap(3), required to communicate with the host described by this host-map entry. An admin sets this to make sure the router encapsulates DECnet packets to that specific host using the framing that host actually expects, since a mismatch would prevent that host from parsing the packets. For example, if a particular DECnet host on the segment only understands SNAP encapsulation, the admin would set that host's nwDecIVHostMapFraming entry to snap(3) even if other hosts on the same interface use plain ethernet(2) framing.
