What is nwDecIVFwdIfControl?

nwDecIVFwdIfControl is defined by the MIB as a common object inherited from the shared Cabletron Routing Services framework, and the description explicitly states it does not apply to the DECnet Phase IV protocol and that setting it has no effect. An admin should not expect writes to this object to change any DECnet-specific forwarding behavior on the port, since it exists only for structural consistency with other protocol-specific MIBs in the same framework. For example, an admin who sets nwDecIVFwdIfControl expecting to add or delete a DECnet forwarding entry on this port would see no actual change, because the object is a no-op placeholder for this particular protocol.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB::nwDecIVFwdIfControl

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.2.2.1.1.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB::nwDecIVFwdIfControl.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.2.2.1.1.1.5.1 i <value>
