Description: This object does not apply to this protocol. It is a common object inherited from the MIB framework used to provide a common management interface to all the Cabletron Routing Services protocol-specific MIBs. Setting this object has no effect.

What is nwDecIVFwdIfCacheControl?

nwDecIVFwdIfCacheControl is defined by the MIB as a common object inherited from the shared Cabletron Routing Services framework, and the description explicitly states it does not apply to the DECnet Phase IV protocol and that setting it has no effect. An admin should not rely on this object to manage any DECnet-specific route cache on this port, since it is only present for structural compatibility with other protocol MIBs that do use route caching. For example, unlike a caching-capable protocol's equivalent object, writing to nwDecIVFwdIfCacheControl for DECnet on this port produces no observable change in behavior.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.2.2.1.1.1.11
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB::nwDecIVFwdIfCacheControl

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.2.2.1.1.1.11.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB::nwDecIVFwdIfCacheControl.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.2.2.1.1.1.11.1 i <value>
