Description: Sets the administrative state of the aggregate (system-wide) DECnet packet and byte counters. Enabled (3) causes these counters to become active. Disabled (2) causes these counters to become inactive.
What is nwDecIVFwdCtrAdminStatus?
nwDecIVFwdCtrAdminStatus is a read-write switch controlling whether the aggregate, system-wide DECnet packet and byte counters, such as nwDecIVFwdCtrInPkts, are actively being accumulated. An admin disables these counters when they aren't needed to save agent resources, or keeps them enabled to continuously track system-wide DECnet traffic volume for capacity planning. For example, setting nwDecIVFwdCtrAdminStatus to disabled(2) stops the system-wide forwarding counters from incrementing, so a later traffic-anomaly investigation would need to re-enable them first.
