nwDecIVEventFltrAction

Module: CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB::nwDecIVEventFltrAction

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.10.2.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Specifies how the events are to be logged. Logging to the `log' stores the events in the event log table (nwDecIVEventLogTable). Logging to'trap' sends events out through the trap mechanism.

What is nwDecIVEventFltrAction?

nwDecIVEventFltrAction specifies how matching events are handled, where log(1) stores them in the event log table, trap(2) sends them out via the SNMP trap mechanism, and log-trap(3) does both. An admin picks this to decide whether a given category of DECnet event should just sit in the local log for later review, actively page out an alert via a trap, or both. For example, an admin who wants immediate notification of critical DECnet routing failures would set that filter entry's nwDecIVEventFltrAction to log-trap(3) so the event is both recorded locally and sent as an SNMP trap right away.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.10.2.1.1.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB::nwDecIVEventFltrAction

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.10.2.1.1.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB::nwDecIVEventFltrAction.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.10.2.1.1.6.1 i <value>
