nwDecIVAclPermission

Module: CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-DECIV-ROUTER-MIB::nwDecIVAclPermission

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.3.2.7.2.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Specifies whether access is allowed or denied between the source and destination address pair. Note that source and destination are interchangeable when bi-directional control is selected. To remove an existing entry set nwDecIVAclPermission to invalid (2). Invalid entries disappear after reboot.

What is nwDecIVAclPermission?

nwDecIVAclPermission is a read-write enumeration specifying whether traffic matching an access control list entry's source and destination address pair is permitted or denied, and setting it to invalid(2) removes the entry, which then disappears entirely after the next reboot. An admin sets this to define the actual permit or deny action of a rule, and uses the invalid(2) setting as the mechanism for deleting entries from the list. For example, setting an entry's nwDecIVAclPermission to deny(4) blocks DECnet traffic matching that entry's address pair, while setting it to invalid(2) removes the rule from the list altogether.
