An administrator uses this to intentionally cut UPS output to preserve battery charge, for instance during extended planned outages where continuous UPS support isn't needed. For example, ahead of a multi-day planned facility power-down, the admin sets this object to 1 to conserve the UPS battery rather than have it discharge supporting an already-idle system.
