fnbCSMACDIndex

Module: CTRON-COMMON-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-COMMON-MIB::fnbCSMACDIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.1.6.1.2.2.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: An unique value for each CSMACD subsystem. Its value ranges between 1 and chassisSlots. The value for each interface must remain constant, at least, from one re-initialization of the entity's network management system to the next re-initialization.

What is fnbCSMACDIndex?

This read-write integer uniquely identifies a CSMA/CD (Ethernet) subsystem within the chassis, ranging between 1 and the number of chassis slots, and remains constant across management system reinitializations. An administrator uses this stable index to consistently reference a specific Ethernet module's slot position across reboots when correlating related CSMA/CD MIB data. For example, when building an inventory of installed Ethernet modules by slot, the admin records this index knowing it persists across the next management restart.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.1.6.1.2.2.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-COMMON-MIB::fnbCSMACDIndex

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.1.6.1.2.2.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-COMMON-MIB::fnbCSMACDIndex.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.1.6.1.2.2.1.1.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> fnbCSMACDIndex.1
