Description: When set, this variable forces the client to send a BOOTP request packet when rebooting. The client will make several attempts before timing out if a server does not respond. This variable stays set. When set to a 1 it should always be read as a one. When set to zero it should always be read as zero.
What is dlForceBootp?
This read-write integer, when set, forces the client to send a BOOTP request packet on reboot, making several attempts before timing out if no server responds, and the setting persists across reboots, always reading back as the value it was set to. An administrator sets this to make the device rely on BOOTP for its network configuration on every subsequent boot rather than a static configuration. For example, when moving a device into a DHCP/BOOTP-managed environment, the admin sets this object to 1 so the device automatically requests its configuration via BOOTP on each restart.
