What is ctCDPOutPackets?
This read-only Counter32 tallies the total number of CDP packets successfully transmitted by the device across all its ports. An administrator monitors this to confirm the device is actively sending out CDP advertisements as expected, which neighboring devices rely on to discover it. For example, if a neighboring switch fails to see this device via CDP, the admin checks this counter first to confirm whether CDP packets are even being transmitted.
